He’s In the Little Things
A couple of days later, I walked into the store with only one thing on my mind... find the booth and get the nativity set. I had only made it a few steps past the door when I heard someone yell my name. As I turned to see who had called out, I saw an old friend that I'd worked with at the Post Office over 10 years ago. She said that she'd often wondered how I was doing, but wasn’t sure how to contact me.
She had taken a part time job in the Flea Market after retiring from the Post Office. Normally, she wouldn't have even been there on this day, but she was filling in for someone else. She said that along with working the register, she also had her own booth in the store. I told her why I came in, but I'd like to see her booth while I was there. As we walked past the many vendor displays and headed towards her booth, I noticed that we were headed in the direction I needed to go. We made it to our destination and she pointed out a few of her items. I then looked up and there on the top shelf sat the very nativity set that I came in for, only now it was on sale.
As I paid for the purchase, my friend and I talked about how only God could have orchestrated the circumstances of our meeting that day. Too many little things had fallen into place for it to be a mere coincidence.
Did you know that God cares about even the little things in our lives? It’s easy to associate the wonders of God with things like creation or nature, but he’s also involved in the smallest of details. He is all around at all times, in every breath that we breathe, in every little thing and every little moment.
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. -Psalm 37:23 NLT
